I certainly think the democRATic base is mostly stupid or utterly naive, and driven by emotion rather than reason. They feel superior because they're such "nice" human beings and will believe anything to keep feeling that way.
Some of front of the house democRATS and RINOs (you know, Schiff, Pelosi, Biden, Obama, Hillary, Bush, Cheney, AOC, the media talking heads, etc, etc, etc) may be stupid, but I think most are just willing to sell their soul and do stupid things because someone or someones has told them to do them. They do that for personal gain (as in selling your soul) or because they live in fear of those behind the scenes, having learned what they are capable of doing.
I don't think whoever(s) it is behind the scenes is stupid. They are very dangerous. They been guiding the democRAT party for over 100 years and more recently the Republican Party, together the UNIPARTY, bringing America to where it now is one election away from installing a permanent dictatorship controlled by them should Trump and MAGA fail..
Would you entertain the notion that the Democrat party is rudderless and disorganized and is being observed by dangerous sinister forces who are opposed to both parties? In other words, I think there is a globalist cabal and a very dangerous one, but I'm not sure they're particularly running the Democrat party. In fact, I think they are rather amused by the current political pandemonium and hope it advances their globalist agenda.
