The concept of a monarchy is that you give a human representation to your national identity. You allow a person, and by extension their family, to transcend their own merely individual identities to symbolize the nation. In a way, that’s what Biden was in last night’s debate. He was the embodiment of 2024 America—aging, decrepit, deceitful, incoherent, vague, manipulated, corrupt, and high out of his mind. We are being run by un-elected people hiding behind a curtain—just like Joe Biden is being controlled by others.
This is the United Sates of America the Democrats have given us in 2020 to 2024.
When Trump was our national symbol, our nation was unabashedly self-interested, loud, sometimes obnoxious, and generally focused on common-sense pathways to prosperity. And like Trump, the man, the MAGA nation who supports him is profoundly and willfully misunderstood. Democrats paint Conservatives as racist, sexist, misogynist, transphobic, and all sorts of newly invented terms that mean “bad guys.” You can debunk a lie a thousand times, and Democrats will still smear Trump with it (“the good people” of Charlottesville lie, the drink bleach lie). Trump is regularly insulted by people who don’t know him but act like they know him so well they can suss out his private motivations and predict his future moves. You know, like how he’ll destroy democracy, bring us into world war, and become a dictator.
You know, it’s the bloodbath thing.
I almost did not want to watch the debate. I knew it would be bad. Having had a mother die of Alzheimer’s disease, it pains me to watch people caught in the throes of living with a dying brain. I knew it would be bad.
But I had no idea how bad.
To use Biden’s own pronunciation, it was expoDENTially worse than I could have predicted. Biden managed to stand upright, I’ll give him that. But his facial expressions were bizarre. He said some rather startling things, and he had a week of preparation for these few minutes of talking into a microphone (which was once strategically muted by Jake Tapper when Biden was going off the rails). Here are some Biden gems from the debate.
He beat Medicare
He needs more money to buy more fentanyl detection machines to put at the border, which will stop drug addiction
The border is closed
He inherited inflation
Trump put kids in cages at the border and he’s only trying to fix that problem
No service people died while he was President
American women are being raped by their in-laws and sisters
And he said some weird things trying to spell out the three trimesters of pregnancy but I can’t remember them—and the internet has been scrubbed clean
He said abortion is a decision that should be made by the doctor (what about the mother?)
And Biden created “Black jobs,” whatever they are
Some of the fact-checkers have been calling Trump a liar (what else is new?) saying that Trump lied when he said the abortion pill has approved by SCOTUS. Fact-checkers, check thyself. It was, on June 13, 2024 in a case that was lumped together with other cases called FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, Danco Laboratories, LLC v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine. It allows for the abortion pill (mifepristone) to be prescribed by in-clinic doctors as well as telehealth apps for the first 10 weeks of pregnancy. In fact, it’s legal to send mifepristone through the mail. Trump was right, fact-checkers wrong.
Nobody fact-checked Biden on the fentanyl detection machines.
The fact-checkers also said that there is no such thing as post-birth abortion when there very much is. It occurs when a late-term abortion is performed but the baby survives. The question then arises: what do you do with a viable, living baby when the mother came in for an abortion? This is not an isolated incident. It happens so much these “abortion survivors” even have their own self-help network. They estimate about 86,000 people have survived an abortion since 1973. What is sometimes done is that the living baby is simply abandoned, often in some obscure hospital closet or laundry room, until the child dies of exposure. The baby is not killed outright, but is simply untended until it expires—which it ultimately does after screaming for help for hours. (That’s why they’re shut away in closets or laundry rooms.) This happens so often there is a law proposed before Congress that would penalize healthcare professionals who do not provide care for any baby born alive. It’s called the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. If babies born alive after abortions were not left to die, why would we have this law?
But Biden and the fact-checkers say this never happens. I think that’s what they call gaslighting.
Apart from the substance of the debate, I had some weird emotional responses.
At first, I was stunned how much worse this was than I expected. I expected bad, I didn’t expect catastrophic.
Then, I thought it was glorious. Was there any better symbolism for the Democrat-made mess our country is in than watching a doddering, glassy-eyed, sometimes scowling, sometimes laughing old man spew a bunch of rambling nonsense while acting outraged? That’s what lefties do every day. I liked the fact that he was showing his true self to the public. I like the fact he was forcing the Democrats to look at the man they supported in our nation’s highest office.
Then I thought it was sad.
Then I started to think it was cruel. I wondered, can he tap out? Can somebody throw in the towel? It was like watching one dominant prize fighter half-murder another guy in the ring while everybody just watches in mute horror.
Trump was surprisingly subdued. He could have pulverized Biden. He could have distracted him with shiny objects, provoked him with some nasty remarks, needled him, or just called him out. I’ve seen Trump give much better speeches than what he said in the debate, but the debate imposed weird rules that dampened the Trump mojo. I thought he did very well, considering complicated issues had to be explained in a couple of minutes and the moderators never pushed back on Biden’s bumbling responses and blatant lies.
Of course, the lefty lunatics on X and other social media platforms are saying Biden was masterful and he won the debate. Those are mostly the people on the Biden or Democrat payroll. (Many pro-Biden accounts on X are paid for by various front organizations—if you want to join so you can be like Harry Sisson and earn your living being a sycophant for Biden, apply at Palette Management. They handle “influencers” for hire. I call them digital prostitutes.)
The debate was held in a nearly empty hall and, at the last minute, even journalists were banned entry. The reporters waited in an adjacent room and watched the debate on screen, like the rest of us. The reporters’ area was set up as a “spin room,” which is sort of the journalistic equivalent of an after-party. The idea is that politicians and pundits and other luminaries—and often the debaters themselves—will pop in the spin room to give mini-interviews, sound bites, and a few impressions to the eager reporters. Plus they serve drinks.
No one showed up except a few intrepid conservatives. A lot of Democrat bigwigs went to the debate—but ran out of the debate screaming, without sharing her impressions with reporters. That’s funny because these guys are generally loud-mouths who share their opinions freely, even when they’re not wanted. But the Democrat base of journalists and politicians and donors and supporters who so zealously back Biden were all no-shows, like Kamala at the border. Trump did not attend, either—he probably felt it was in poor taste to gloat over the implosion of a sitting President.
The debate was like a really, really bad funeral.
Biden didn’t show up in the spin room, either. Jill Biden ran up on stage after the debate. No cameras were allowed but nowadays everybody has a camera, so we got to see this. They showed her clap for Joe like he was a toddler who just made a boom-boom in the toilet. She told him in a patronizing way that he did great. “You answered all the questions!”
I talk less condescendingly to preschoolers.
Then she guided him off-stage. He had no idea where he was, much less where he was going. She grabbed onto his arm and helped him navigate the six or eight painful steps to a few stairs. She slowly helped him get down the stairs.
I know the look of dementia. Joe needs to be in a wheelchair for his own safety. He is wobbly on his feet, stairs are a real threat, and he has no idea of how to enter or leave a room. He has no sense of spatial orientation, which often disappears as dementia advances. But Jill needs to keep the old boy standing upright in order to keep that Chinese money rolling in.
Reports say that after the massacre, I mean the debate, Jill took Joe to the Waffle House. It reminded me of how Martha Washington took George Washington to get pancakes after the Battle of Trenton. And remember when Mary Todd Lincoln praised Abe Lincoln for reading all the words on the back of the envelope for the Gettysburg Address. “You did great, Abe! You said all the words!”
Seriously, could there be a more ridiculous POTUS? Haiti is being run right now by a strongman-criminal who goes by the nickname Barbecue. He has more credibility on the world stage than Joe Biden. Can we do any worse?
And that is the question. What are the liberal lunatics going to do? They can dance with the one that brung ‘em, as we say in Texas, and simply ride the Biden horse into political extinction. That would be wonderful, but Democrats rarely do the easy dignified thing when they can do the convoluted stupid thing.
They can dump Biden and find a new candidate. The problem for this is that the Democratic National Convention (DNC) is holding its big clambake in just a few weeks. Some have said that the lefties—being cruel and unusual people—orchestrated this debate to force crypt-keeper Jill to get stubborn Joe Biden off the ticket. In other words, Jill insists that Joe run, so the Democrats set up this debate to humiliate her into removing Joe from the ticket. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I’m pretty sure it will take more than a bad debate to get barnacle Joe off the ticket as long as Jill is in the picture.
Protocol and political tradition afford the privilege of the nomination to the incumbent, unless he refuses. It’s kind of tacky and trashy to ditch an incumbent, but remember, this is the White House where a bare-breasted person danced around the White House lawn and the Bidens celebrated Christmas with the grandchildren for YEARS without including their seventh granddaughter, the illegitimate child of Hunter Biden. Her name is Navy Joan and her mother, Lundon Roberts, had to take Hunter to court to get child support. So dignity and decorum are not exactly a hallmark of this administration. This means they could kick Biden off the ticket with or without ceremony. They can oust him with dignity or they can throw him out of a moving car (figuratively speaking, of course). Maybe they can take him to the Waffle House again to ease the pain.
But even if they get rid of Joe, that doesn’t solve the problem, it only reveals another problem. The real issue then becomes: who is the nominee? They could ask Joe to step aside in favor of Kamala Harris—that would certainly be considered politically correct and dignified—but nobody wants Kamala as president, not even lefty Democrats. And let’s face it, dignity has left the Biden administration years ago. There is also a major political risk to ditching Kamala, as it could be perceived as being disrespectful to Black women, which is a Democrat bastion of support.
Some have suggested that Michelle Obama will step in. Or maybe it’s Gavin Newsom. I’ve even heard Gretchen Whitmer’s name being floated around. (If they’re talking Whitmer, you know they are desperate. She’s about as electable as Amber Heard.)
Michelle Obama is both the strongest player on the lefty bench but also the least likely to want the job. Michelle has never liked politics. She said openly she hated the years she lived in the White House. She’s also never really had a job of any sort—she collected a few no-show activist pay stubs in her day, but she never really worked as an attorney or anything else. Why would she want to start working at this late date? Michelle has always wanted to be a rich celebrity, eating lunch with Oprah, playing tennis with celebrities, and jetting from one big mansion to the next. She wants to play movie producer and bestselling author… and make lots of money while doing more or less whatever she feels like.
She has that. She has all of that right now.
Why would she give up the glamorous celebrity lifestyle she always craved to go to work? Being President is a very hard job that requires a person to work closely with lots of disagreeable people doing really complicated stuff. It puts you on call for four years. Sure, you get perks, but you also get hours in the Situation Room when things go south. Why would she willingly throw herself into the political fires? Why would she go back to the place she claimed to have detested?
Michelle strikes me as a self-indulgent woman, but she’s not stupid. She knows politics better than most (that’s probably why she hates it) and she knows that whoever steps into the Oval Office next is going to have to do some massive clean up.
The United States under Biden has shuttered 11 Embassies around the world. This is a record and it is a clear indicator that our global foreign policy is incoherent, stupid, and in shambles. She’d have to address that.
We have unsustainable debt and we’re clearly wasting money as fast as we can tax it in. So what will she do? Curtail the big-budget fiascos of the Democrats? That’s lefty heresy. So she’ll have to perpetuate inflation and that will make people angry when a gallon of milk costs $55.
Drug overdose deaths are spiking to unheard of levels. How can she fix that? She can’t pretend it isn’t happening—just go to Kensington in Philadelphia.
The Houthi pirates have closed down the Suez Canal. Is she going to stand up to them? I think Michelle could take down a few pirates, actually, but I’m not sure she wants to go to war.
There is war in the Ukraine and no clear exit plan. Is she going to keep shoveling money to Zelenskyy? I wonder if she knows where the bodies are buried in terms of Ukrainian money laundering, human trafficking, and biolabs. Does she really want to start turning over Ukrainian rocks? Are any of the Ukrainian shady schemes going to trace back to Barack?
There is war in the Middle East and Hamas still has some U.S. hostages, if they’re even still alive. How will she get them out?
Antisemitism is breaking our all over. What does Michelle think about Israel? That’s a complicated part of the world.
Many of our institutions—the mainstream media, academia, government entities, non-government organizations, intelligence agencies, public health, medicine—are collapsing. Can she fix them? How can she restore public trust?
Our infrastructure is broken. For example, Mayor Pete has taken $7B and in three years has managed to build 7 car chargers. Will she fire Buttigieg, the darling of the Democrats? Or just give him more money and more time?
The border is open and current immigration policies are unsustainable. How is she going to answer questions about human trafficking, drug smuggling, and terrorists coming into the country?
How will she manage the debt? If she governs like a Democrat, the nation will collapse financially, likely during her term.
Crime is up, no matter how we juke the stats. Same with inflation. Liberals can gaslight about a lot of things, but not about their own safety or the price of groceries. What will she do when poor families and families of color complain to her that they can’t pay the rent?
The thing is, Michelle knows what comes with the job. Other potential candidates may think they know the job and with glib smugness say that they could fix things, not understanding the complexities of the political world. Others, like Gavin, have no idea how to fix things, but they are smug in the notion that they could at least hide them. And some like Kathy Hocchul know things are bad, have no idea how to fix things or hide disasters, but enjoy destruction for its own sake. Michelle is different. She knows things are bad, she knows that everybody knows it, she knows it cannot be hidden much longer, and it will take Herculean efforts to right the ship.
Michelle allegedly told her daughters that they should never ever consider a career in politics. So I think she won’t run.
Now one last bit of information. The DNC is the actual organization that nominates the party’s candidate. It’s run by a guy named Jaime Harrison who is an ardent Biden loyalist. He probably didn’t sleep well last night.
Donna Brazile ran the DNC when Hillary was conducting her lackluster presidential campaign in 2016. In Brazile’s book Hacked, she described that the head of the DNC had the power to remove a candidate from the ballot, if that candidate lacked the health or vitality to run for office. At the time, Hillary’s health was in question. Remember when Hillary collapsed on September 11, 2016 in New York City and had to be practically lifted into a vehicle by Secret Service? Brazile wrote that she felt very much betrayed by Hillary, who was extremely secretive about everything, particularly her health. Brazile suspected Hillary had some serious underlying medical condition, and she worried that Hillary might have more “fainting spells” or bouts of “pneumonia.” Emails from her top aide Huma Abedin at the time described that Hillary often had seizures. So Brazile considered removing Hillary from the ticket. (I also think Hillary very much wants the 2024 nomination but her health precludes it. I would rule her out as a Biden replacement.)
Brazile said she could have removed Hillary from the ticket, and she seriously considered it. Ultimately, she decided not to keep Hillary on, which is perhaps why Donna Brazile is still in the land of the living. Brazile came to believe Hillary was well enough to run for office and she also said she “owed Hillary” so much, she could not bear to deprive her of the candidacy. This anecdote means the DNC has the power to remove Joe from the ballot for health reasons and, to be frank, that seems fair.
But what would this mean? While the head of the DNC has the power to remove a candidate, booting an incumbent off the ticket might require his consent or at least could not be done over his objections. In Hillary’s case, she wasn’t the incumbent.
The official DNC nomination takes place this August which (shockingly for me anyway) is just weeks away.
The DNC has its own methods for nominating their candidate. They have something called “pledged delegates.” Pledged delegates are people, like electors, who vote for the candidate of choice. They get pledged or sign up to vote for particular people. There are 4,000 pledged delegates and right now, 3,900 are pledged to Biden.
Technically, these pledged delegates are supposed to vote for Biden, but the DNC is not sure that this a rule they’re going to enforce. It’s debatable how much wiggle room these pledged delegates have. I think this sounds stupid. If a pledged delegate can vote for anybody, then why are they pledged?
There are also 700 “super-delegates” but they only get involved if the first ballot fails to produce a winner.
The problem is that the pledged delegates are already set up to deliver the nomination to Biden, pre-empting the super-delegates from even coming to vote. So the first round delivers at least 3,900 out of 4,000 delegate votes to Biden and it’s game over.
Now if Biden graciously stepped away from the nomination, it’s not clear what happens to his pledged delegates. Technically, they become free agents—but it is not known if Biden would have actual or implied influence over them and might be able to steer them to a particular candidate or away from another candidate. The reason this is unknown is that these are uncharted waters. On an uncharted ocean off an uncharted continent.
And due to a confusing set of circumstances involving Ohio, the DNC has already decided that they will have a virtual nomination for Biden before the actual convention. (This has to do with some technicalities that would otherwise not allow Ohio delegates to vote for the candidate, so they sidestepped the problem by going to a pre-convention virtual nomination.) The DNC, like its Republican counterpart organization, can make up their own rules and adjust them as they go along. Thus, the DNC has a convention in August, but will nominate its candidate before the convention.
Tick, tock. The DNC has to solve its Biden problem in the next few weeks.
What if Biden got the Democrat nomination, but for some reason dropped out after the convention but before the election? No one knows. This kind of stuff has never happened before. The DNC is allowed under current rules to have an emergency meeting and about 500 Democrats would convene to name a replacement—all it would take is a simple majority. However, no one knows how this would work, and no one knows who they would nominate.
What if Biden were to resign the presidency for health reasons right now? That would make Kamala president but, interestingly, it doesn’t get her an easy ride to the Democrat nomination. A Vice President who becomes President is not treated by the DNC as an incumbent. So if Kamala wanted the job, she’d have to throw her hat in the ring and duke it out at the special DNC meeting with everyone else. The delegates pledged to Biden cannot be transferred to Harris in this scenario, but they could vote for Harris if they felt like it. However, Kamala’s biggest problem is that she is not very popular, even among Democrats.
Bear in mind that the DNC is not the government, and DNC leadership can adjust their procedures and change their rules as they see fit. They might need to.
Great Article. A couple comments. First, you wrote … “Trump is regularly insulted by people who don’t know him but act like they know him so well they can suss out his private motivations and predict his future moves. You know, like how he’ll destroy democracy, bring us into world war, and become a dictator. You know, it’s the bloodbath thing.”
Just so your readers know, Biden’s reference to a “bloodbath” during the debate was democRATS yet again trying to smear Trump for saying something HE DID NOT SAY. Biden and democRATS wanted the public to think Trump meant a literal bloodbath when he said the following during a March speech (https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2024/03/18/experts-executives-auto-workers-agree-with-trump-china-hoping-annihilate-american-auto-industry-bloodbath-joe-bidens-watch/ _
“China now is building a couple of massive plants, where they're going to build the cars in Mexico and … they think that they're going to sell those cars into the United States with no tax at the border. Let me tell you something to China, if you’re listening President Xi — and you and I are friends but he understands the way I deal — those big, monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re going to get that and you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars to us, no. We’re going to put a 100 percent tariff on every single car that comes across the line. And you’re not going to be able to sell those cars if I get elected. Now if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole, that’s going to be the least of it, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the country; that’s going to be the least of it.”
Clearly, that was Trump predicting what will happen to the American car industry (and other American industry) if Trump loses the election and we get Biden’s economic/foreign policies instead (i.e., no large tariffs on China). He was predicting an ECONOMIC “bloodbath” and interestingly enough The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the term “bloodbath” as a “major economic disaster”.
The statement clearly had nothing to do with Trump advocating violence. Yet, right way, democRATS began saying it did. Here’s what James Singer of the Biden Campaign tweeted that day: https://x.com/BidenHQ/status/1769163262283706801
It states:
“Tonight, Donald Trump said there would be a ‘bloodbath’ if he wasn’t elected and that if he lost there would be no more elections. After opening the general election by meeting with authoritarian leaders and rallying alongside conspiracy theorists, Donald Trump continues to praise dictators, promise political violence, and launch racist attacks against Black and brown Americans. ... snip ... This is who Donald Trump is: a loser who gets beat by over 7 million votes and then instead of appealing to a wider mainstream audience doubles down on his threats of political violence. He wants another January 6, but the American people are going to give him another electoral defeat this November because they continue to reject his extremism, his affection for violence, and his thirst for revenge.”
As you can see, Trump said nothing about political violence or violence of any sort. Obviously James Singer was pushing dishonest fear porn. The response by Biden’s campaign was even back in March. And Singer wasn’t the only one pushing the bloodbath lie. For example, Pelosi went on CNN and said “we just have to win this election because he [Trump] is even predicting a bloodbath.”
Trump responded on March 18 saying that Democrats "pretended to be shocked at my use of the word BLOODBATH, even though they fully understood that I was simply referring to imports" allowed by Biden "which are killing the automobile industry." Soon numerous media outlets were publishing articles pointing out the lie in what the Biden campaign and top democRATS were still saying. Some of those outlets were even mainstream media (like CNN). Yet, Biden’s campaign went right on repeating it.
In May crazed Robert De Niro narrated a highly dishonest campaign commercial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiwJ3kTMX60&t=3s) for Joe Biden which featured a clip of Trump saying “If I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath.” The lead-in to the clip was De Niro saying Trump was “threatening to be a dictator and terminate the Constitution.” And the video ends with Biden saying “I’m Joe Biden and I approve this message.” I ask you … how much more dishonest could democRATS get? Well, we found out the answer last night when Biden’s handlers programmed him to push the false claim even during yesterday’s debate.
