Democrats are different from Republicans and not just because Democrats think the women on The View are smart, Stephen Colbert is humorous, the New York Times is a credible newspaper, and it is enlightened to bring your kids to a PRIDE parade where adults rip off their clothes.
There are some cultural distinctives as well. One thing that separates the Blue from the Red is that Democrats like mail-in voting. Maybe it’s a case of “dance with the one that brung you” because Democrats delivered thislast four-year debacle to us because of mail-in voting. But no matter how you slice it, Democrats want to vote while sitting on their living room couch eating potato chips and watching YouTube videos of about their political compatriots, you know, the people who bully Jewish students, twerk on police cars, or scold you about their pronouns.
Republicans, on the other hand, prefer to vote in-person and up until very recently, we preferred to vote on Election Day. Republicans have this notion that an election ought to be a one-day affair in which people must show up in person to vote.
That won’t work in 2024. Republicans must vote early this year, ideally in person but mail-in as a last resort. Forty-seven states have early in-person voting (only New Hampshire, Alabama, and Mississippi do not), so most Republicans can get to the polls and cast an in-person vote before November 5. Earlier is better. In fact, put your phone down and go vote right now, if you haven’t voted already.
Here is why:
Democrats vote early which sets up what The Hill calls a Democrat “firewall” for the election. It means even before Election Day, the Democrats are leading and that contributes to election momentum. The “Big Mo” (momentum) may even cause Republicans to give up and not show up on Election Day. It’s why Democrats like to blare early voting reports around (this year, less so, since they’re not leading).
The Democrat advantage comes mainly from mail-in votes. Republicans don’t like to mail their votes in. So early voting immediately erases this natural Democrat edge in elections.
Early voting turnouts scare Democrats since they do their best voting in the middle of the night behind closed doors at polling places. In Nevada, for example, 20% of the eligible voters have already voted.
Some say early voting helps cheating, because Democrats will find out early on the ballot deficit they need to counter a Republican win. But Trump’s adage “too big to rig” could be in play. Let’s say a precinct has 100,000 registered voters. If 80,000 of them have voted before Election Day and if those votes are 50,000 for Republicans and 30,000 for Democrats, the Democrats are at a 20,000 vote deficit plus the Election Day votes (20,000 votes) are still coming in. So even if just 10,000 people vote on Election Day, split evenly between Red and Blue, we’re at 55,000 and 35,000. Only 10,000 votes are not accounted for which—even with the famous ballots-in-a-suitcase move, only gives the Democrats 45,000. And if you rigged that, you’d have a precinct where 100% of registered voters voted. That’s actually not possible in real life although it’s happened in our elections. The goal here is not making it impossible to cheat, it’s discouraging the cheat.
“Banking your vote” is part of setting up a huge margin that Democrats have to overcome. In theory at least, we could bank enough Republican votes to make cheating virtually impossible or at least blatantly obvious.
There is talk that there may be an October surprise, but that may not be a political revelation or a gossipy news tidbit. It could be something like a national internet outage, a terrorist attack, a declartion of war… who know what our enemies are capable of? (I’m talking about the enemy within.) If you wait to vote till Election Day and there are internet problems or civil unrest, you may not get to vote.
Voting turnouts are high already (13M people have already voted as of October 22, 2024) and likely to soar into the stratosphere. Don’t risk waiting till Election Day and getting stuck in a line that’s hours long. Most early voting is not plagued by long lines, and if you show up early in the morning when the polls first open, you’re not likely to encounter much of a wait at all. (Some people get discouraged, tired, hungry, or otherwise just give up if they have to wait in line too long.)
Planned or not, there are always election day mishaps. Machines jam, the polling place runs out of paper, some family or work crisis might interfere with your being able to vote on Election Day. Whether it’s a ploy to rig the election or just the normal consequences of a busy life, don’t take chances that you won’t be able to vote on Election Day.
More Republicans are voting early than ever before according to preliminary results. Where we go one, we go all.
Don’t mail in your vote. The United States Postal Service (USPS) has endorsed Harris. Don’t trust them to carry your ballot, they’re blatantly partisan.
You may be wondering about election shenanigans, which are as American as apple pie and pickup trucks. Edgar Allen Poe may have died as a result of being brutally shanghaied into an election scam (back in the day, political thugs would threaten random people to vote using assumed names and beat them up when they failed to comply). The story about Joe Kennedy rigging his son’s election in Chicago is legendary and considered more quaint than criminal. LBJ rigged a Texas Senatorial election so that he won by the slimmest of margins, earning him the sarcastic nickname of “Landslide Lyndon.” And then came 2020. So let me explain how some of the 2024 tricks are going to work. They’re going to need some new tricks.
Illegal Aliens to the Rescue
Some people worry that the reason Democrats want an influx of illegal aliens in the country is to get a solid voting base, thinking illegals will vote Democrat. That might be, but a lot of illegals do not vote. Not only is it illegal, there is a tendency, even among newly naturalized citizens, to abstain from voting. So why are Democrats so eager to flood the country with illegals? We don’t even know how many—MSN (hardly a conservative site) suggests over 10M people are in this country illegally since 2021.
The gambit isn’t to get illegals to vote, it’s to get illegals registered
Many states offer automatic voter registration to illegals when they interface with the government. For instance, apply for welfare, apply for a driver’s license, or do any number of other similar acts and illegals may be automatically registered to vote without providing proof of citizenship and in some cases without even knowing they were being registered to vote
Let’s say a community registers an illegal named Esmeralda Sanchez to vote and captures her address. Esmeralda does not know she’s being registered to vote and she wouldn’t know how to vote anyway having just arrived. But on the official voter rolls it says Esmeralda Sanchez is as voter.
A nefarious actor with a ballot can now get a blank ballot and fill it out for Esmeralda Sanchez, voting for Kamala Harris. Esmeralda has no idea this is happening. The ballot is mailed in or dropped off, so that no in-person verification is needed. There is a signature on the ballot but you’re kidding yourself if you think there is much actual signature verification going on.
Now you’re got a “legal” albeit forged vote for Harris. Repeat this a few thousand times in each precinct where margins are thin.
This is one reason why illegals are so weirdly distributed throughout the United States. They don’t need them in Martha’s Vineyard (they vote blue, no matter who), but in other states, they need to have these names on the rolls so that illegal ballots can seem legit. Thus, the Martha’s Vineyard people threw out the illegals, but states like Texas, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona are having busloads of illegals driven in. It’s not important that they vote, it’s important that they register.
This is why Democrats are so opposed to purging old voter rolls, requiring proof of citizenship, tightening up our immigration system, and requiring voter ID. The Democrats always trot out racism for their opposition to voter ID, suggesting that Black voters are too dumb to get identification—but the real reason they oppose voter ID is that the illegal registration voter scam won’t work if voters have to show up in person with proof of who they are. They just gratuitously insult Black voters to cover up their own crimes.
It beats the olden days, when Democrats used to go to cemeteries to write down names from tombstones in order to try to get dead people listed on the polls. (This is real—Lyndon Johnson’s campaign did it.) Same concept, different era.
There is one drawback to early voting—you can’t change your mind. So if you think something could happen that might make you want to vote for Kamala Harris, then maybe wait. But if you’re a Never-Kamala voter, vote early. Vote right now.
We have tried the past two days to vote early and you can’t even barely get down the road. We are planning to go first thing Friday morning (I have a dr appointment tomorrow morning) and wait it out. We always vote early. We have to show ID. Which is great 👍 why wouldn’t you need one ? We will get in. I think a lot of republicans have changed their minds on the voting early and distrust the mail in ballots. Getting popcorn ready for election night !!! Good luck America 🇺🇸
I agree with the in person voting. I feel it’s more certain. I have never seen it this crowded but we won’t be deterred. Will report back when mission is complete 🇺🇸
