How the Hippies Became the Sheep

The Cure for TDS Is Just a Few Years Away!

Is it just me or did the “No Kings” riots last week seem more like a nursing home outing? So many old faces, people in wheelchairs, old guys shaking their fists in the air, people with oxygen tanks. The weak-energy geriatric crowd of “No Kings” protestors the other day are aging hippies.

The hippies flourished in the 1960s and 1970s with their anti-war protests, slogans like “Make Love, Not War,” and tie-dyed tee-shirts. They drove vans (and sometimes lived in them). They were the radicals of their era, growing their hair long as acts of insurrection and smoking a lot of weed. They were the generation that said, “Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out” and most of them did just that. They refused to be productive, thinking this was going to revolutionize the world. They were all about revolution, as long as it was the kind of revolution the Beatles sang about and not anything that took any actual effort on their part.

In addition to irresonsible drug use and promiscuity, these merry fools failed to launch. Some went to school and even college, but many preferred to wander about aimlessly through society. Even the college graduates among them put in the time without ever learning critical thinking skills. They railed against “the man” and considered themselves free-thinkers, renegades, and bright lights in a dimming world. In reality, they refused to think critically or consider alternative viewpoints since, after all, they were always right. And always high.

Now this feckless bunch of hippies has grown old and they religiously watch CNN, MsNBC, The View, Morning Joe, and ABC. If you wonder who actually subscribes to The Washington Post or The New York Times, it’s what’s left of this wasted and graying generation. If you wonder why some of the most prominent mainstream media outlets are dying off, it’s because their viewers are aging out. CNN won’t exist in 10 years. And this presents a mystery. Why did the rebellious generation that was going to change the world wind up being a bunch of deluded sheep?

The Hippy Dippy Psy-Op

It seems puzzling that the generation that fought “the man” and prevailing norms in our culture ardently hang on mainstream media as the sole purveyor of truth. Aging hippies truly believe that mainstream media is fair and balanced, while independent outlets, citizen journalists, and podcasters are all enemies of the state, trying to bring down the true lights of mainstream media, you know, Rachel Maddow and Joe Scarborough and the gals on The View. How did this happen? How were they so fooled?

The first thing to realize is that the hippy culture was robustly infiltrated with drugs. Hippies like to think they “discovered” drugs or invented inebriation, but if you read Tom O’Neill’s masterful book Chaos, it demonstrates that the drug culture was at least partially, if not almost entirely, advanced by the CIA. The CIA was conducting LSD experiments (sometimes on unwitting participants) and plying street hippies in San Francisco and elsewhere with lots of free dope. One of those guys was Charles Manson, which was the theme of O’Neill’s book, but how many others like Manson were there, who just never got found out?

The hippy culture also promoted free love, meaning they saw little to no value in marriage or family (of course, many hippies were quick to call mom or dad when they got short on cash). These free-love disciples drifted in and out of relationships in their youth, leaving them in old age with no partners or, at best, fragmented families. They are engulfed in a profound loneliness, with only dim memories of what might have been. It’s one thing to be a tomcat when you’re a strong, virile 25-year-old man, and quite another when you’re a 65-year-old in a wheelchair with an oxygen mask. Many of these geriatric hippies are all alone in the world.

In their youthful heyday, the hippies debunked religion, declaring God was dead or that God never existed, and anyway church was a racket. Now they’re atheists in a strange land. It’s one thing to be a youthful atheist and another thing to enter hospice with no grounding in any transcendant truths.

The hippies in their heyday raged against the government and saw themselves as valiant crusaders for truth and love. But there were some things they didn’t get around to doing.

• They did not start businesses; there was no entrepreneurial spirit in them

• They hated “fat cats” who saw business as anything but pure unmitigated evil

• They did not work except when absolutely compelled to and then they approached work with an almost heroic belligerence. If they got a job, it was usually an unskilled, entry-level, minimum-wage job and they refused to learn any skills or abide by company policy long enough to advance. This is where they get the Bernie Sanders notion that minimum wage is a lifetime wage

• If they didn’t have a trust fund or their parents practiced tough love, they migrated from one low-level job to the next. It’s one thing to start working an entry-level minimum wage job as a 22-year-old person, but it’s quite another thing to be doing that very same minimum wage job at age 45.

So how did this group of alleged “radicals” wind up being the bedrock on which mainstream media built the bulkhead to take down the country? Sex, drugs, and rock and roll. That’s what led to their faith in the mainstream media and that, in turn, led to their hatred of Donald Trump.

The JFK Assassination and Watergate

Most of these geriatric “No Kings” warriors in their walkers in 2025 were in elementary school when JFK was assassinated. They were kids at the time, but as they grew up, they clung ferociously to the belief that the Warren Commission was 100% honest, and that Lee Harvey Oswald acted as a lone nut. The fact that nobody could ever explain a motivation for Oswald (other than his being a nut) or wanted to do a deep dive into his curious intelligence ties and background went over their hippie heads. These boomer hippies were not bright. They were not inquisitive. They were not thinkers. Anything that required thought, contemplation, investigation—and certainly debate—were things they avoided. Let’s face it, they spent most of the time high and they still do today. (In medical literature there is a growing body of articles on how to deal with aging drug addicts—many of the hardcore addicts that bounce in and out of emergency rooms are old guys.) Their youthful affection for marijuana has not dimmed over time.

Most of the “No Kings” squad has never questioned the Oswald narrative, although there is plenty to question. The Warren Report has more holes in it than Swiss cheese. And forget knowing about more subtle things. Most aging hippies do not know about Operation Mockingbird or the CIA’s infiltration of the mainstream media. They believe the CIA is a force for good or at least not evil.

And then came Watergate.

Reporters Carl Bernstein (his parents were members of the communist party) and Bob Woodward broke the story of the century, and they did it for the mainstream media. This cemented the adulation of the hippie class, who saw these reporters as intrepid truth fighters. The hippies now saw mainstream media as the valiant and righteous opponents of the state.

What if I told you that Bob Woodward had a long career in the military (and possibly Naval) intelligence? Woodward applied for a job at the Washington Post in 1971 although he had no journalism credentials or experience. He just parachuted in to a leading American newspaper with no experience and his first real story was Watergate. The famous “Deep Throat” connection was Woodward’s guy, not Bernstein’s. (Bernstein had a journalism background, so it’s more plausible he would have government contacts rather than Woodward.)

No, a guy from out of nowhere lands a plum job for which he is utterly unqualified, then breaks the “story of the century,” and we’re not supposed to be suspicious? Bernstein seems like he was a CIA plant to place the story the CIA wanted to bring down Nixon.

In fact, Woodward had kind of a crazy-quilt career; he was admitted to Harvard Law but decided not to go and was studying Shakespeare somewhere else at the time he applied to The Washington Post. Woodward’s very first story was the Watergate story. We are supposed to believe that his guy with no contacts or press credentials got the Deep Throat source. But the Watergate story allowed the mainstream media to position itself as opposition to the government. These were the guys who “took down” Nixon. Just like Oswald killed Kennedy, The Washington Post killed Nixon’s political career. To the hippies, the mainstream media were the heroes and to be fully trusted forever after. Besides taking Nixon out of office, this psy-op had one other major benefit: it made the hippies the hard-core fan base of the Deep-State-run media.

Then and now, these hippies were loyal viewers of mainstream media. The people who think CNN is fair, honest, and speaks truth to power are the same people who remember Watergate. The CIA and their minions first drugged the hippie class, got them to drop out of productive life and education, and then turned them into mindless mainstream media zombies. Why? Well, it’s easier to get sheep to do your bidding than educated independent citizens.

Trump Derangement Syndrome

This may be where we get Trump Derangement Syndrome, a condition so well known in this country it goes by its acronym: TDS. Just as hippies were manipulated into being low-information, low-ambition pot smokers, they were swindled into being fans of the mainstream media. From there, they were catapulted into a movement intent on national division. Their cause? Hating Trump.

You don’t have to be smart to hate Trump (in fact, brains and books protect you from TDS), but you do have to be bitter and angry. And that’s who these old hippies are. They have been robbed of a meaningful life and find themselves now in their twilight years with no path forward. If life was hard for the hippies in their prime, it’s nearly impossible now that they are aging out. They don’t even have good memories. They have—at best—fragmented families. Many have no families at all or families that despise them. They have no faith, no deep values. They have no sense of the meaning of life. They have no emotional depth beyond hatred. They have no accomplishments. They left no legacy. They have no kids or their kids are messed up. The world is not a better place because they lived, in fact, they know they made the world a dirtier, darker, meaner, nastier place than it was before. They won’t take the red pill, but they’re forced to swallow this very bitter pill.

They’ve been robbed and they know it, they just think that Trump is the thief and not the Deep State.

The geriatric TDS crowd is by nature divisive—always has been. The Bible says that it is a grave sin to sow division among brothers (or countrymen) so it’s helpful that these creaky hippies don’t believe in God. From their inception, hippies always “fought” the man.

• They fought the man over long hair

• They fought the man over free love

• They fought the man for legal (and ideally free) abortions

• They fought the man for legalized drugs

• They fought the man against the draft

• They fought the man against cultural norms

• They fought the man by not having traditional families

Many hippies were heterosexual but became zealous allies with the gay communities because they found it stunning and brave that some people with same-sex attractions were closeted and had secret sexual escapades. The straight hippies wanted to be brave and bold like the gays were, but, alas, they were straight, so all they could do was applaud vigorously from the sidelines, like perverts watching a peep show. This has morphed into the aging hippies’ voyeuristic applause for all manner of sexual perversions. It’s why aging hippies think that a biological male who dates an intact transwoman is “brave.”

These hippies hated religion, despised the church or other houses of worship, and supported atheism like it was some kind of cause. There are among the geriatric hippies people who are fervent evangelists for atheism. They always want to play that tepid atheist ballad at their funerals: Imagine. Many hippies hate God but, worse than that, they want everyone to hate God. And the mainstream media supports these causes.

For a generation born and bred to develop oppositional disorder, TDS is a perfect condition for their old age. It allows them to be defiant and angry to their heart’s content. The fact that they are destroying the country is inconsequential to them since they never built anything themselves. They think mainstream media is the source of all truth (and anything not published or promoted by major corporations is by definition “misinformation” and as dangerous as cobra venom). They countenance no opposition. Being uneducated on purpose (some aging hippies did go to college, they just refused to every learn anything or consider an alternative viewpoint), they could understand nothing in the world but what they were told.

What were they told? That Trump is a dictator, a fascist, he is Hitler incarnate, he is the antichrist, the prophet of doom, a madman, authoritarian, despotic, a king, a corrupt vicious grifter, a convicted felon, a rapist, and all the rest. And they believe it because their beloved media told them that.

How TDS and the CIA are Linked

It is no secret that Trump is no fan of the CIA. I don’t know his actual stance on the organization, but the CIA has been at the heart of so much evil that it is hard to imagine anybody liking them. I think you could get more people to join the Sadam Hussein fan club than the CIA fan club. They’re just not on anybody’s Christmas card list.

So the CIA is glad to stoke the fires of TDS. Some say that the CIA took out Kennedy and this is not the article on that subject—but certainly the CIA did not shed many tears when Kennedy was assassinated. Some say the CIA through Woodward (moreso than Bernstein) took out Nixon. The CIA groomed Obama, so he was one of theirs, but Obama (who is a bit of an aging hippie himself) is increasingly irrelevant.

Then came Trump, the most unlikely President in our history.

The CIA, that is to say the button men for the Deep State, did not install Trump. They do not want Trump as President despite his being duly elected. No, the Deep State hates Trump and encourages TDS. TDS serves no one’s interests other than the interests of the Deep State. TDS does not serve Trump, it does not serve the majority of the voters, nor does it serve these decrepit hippies. In fact, it’s making them nuts.

But the Deep State and mainstream media fuel the firest of TDS. It was easy to get their old victims, these now-aging, angry losers, to jump on the TDS bandwagon since they were dog loyal to the mainstream media and opposed to listening or reading anything that was not government propaganda.

That worked for a while but, alas for the CIA, the hippies are a dying breed. Nobody lives forever, and lonely, feckless drug users are not well known for longevity. Some among this group have already passed away, some have dementia or other age-related cognitive impairments, and some are just plain getting old. Their poor lifestyle choices, mental health disorders, rampant drug use, loneliness, and now their engulfing sense of having wasted their entire lives are making them viciously angry. They were always an angry group, but now they’re big angry. But they’re not mad at the forces that created them. They’re so ill-informed and badly educated they’re mad at Donald Trump.

Nobody is a bigger example of this aging hippie anger than Roger Waters, a man who was blessed with great talent and a prosperous career; but he hates Donald Trump and makes TDS the centerpiece of his endless rounds of tours. Ironically, he’s an 81-year-old British citizen. But Roger Waters is a great example of the aging hippie turned TDS victim. (If you ever want to know if a boomer has TDS but you don’t want to mention the name of Trump, ask them what they think of Roger Waters. If they love Roger Waters, they almost assuredly have stage 4 TDS.)

And turn on mainstream media for a while. See any bright young faces? The only young people promoting the Democrats these days are the ones the Democrats have bought off. Guys like Harry Sisson (follow him on X, he’s quite amusing)—he is a paid shill. He takes money to post things that favor the Democrats. I call them digital prostitutes because if you pay them enough, they’ll say whatever you want them to say. And irony of ironies, Sisson isn’t from here, either. He’s Irish. Sisson is not Roger Waters. Sisson is in it for the money. Waters is in it for the rage.

All that is left of the once vast hippie culture are some angry, poor, low-information, uneducated people in nursing homes or inflicting themselves in their old age on better-educated friends and relatives. I’ve noticed that people with TDS often depend on those of us without it, but this dependence does not soften their incessant hostility or dull their white-hot anger. No, those with TDS hate us passionately, even as they borrow money from us or get us to pay their rent. The fact that they sponge off of non-TDS people is a badge of honor: they do it to say how tolerant they are! They have friends who like Trump, they’ll boast, while they take the $20 they begged from you.

But in actual fact, these aging hippies are victims. It’s sad, really. They have been had. They were no match for a nation-wide psy-op.

Not every boomer was a hippie, of course. Many boomers escaped. Some might have had bell-bottoms or tie-dyed T-shirts but never sank into the morass of soulless hippie culture. There are many (most) boomers who had careers, built businesses, established families, raised children. Sadly, some of that generation got caught up in a major psy-op. The Deep State made them into sheep.

When the last of the hippie-boomers die off (and it’s not that far off), TDS will be over.
