How George Floyd is Like Kilmar Abrego Garcia
And How Senator Christopher Van Hollen is Like Barack Obama
U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D, Maryland) recently traveled to El Salvador to try to kidnap an El Salvadoran citizen named Kilmar Abrego Garcia. You probably know the details about this El Salvadoran. The fake media calls him “Maryland Man,” which would sort of be like calling Ted Bundy “Florida Man.” Abrego-Garcia was caught up in a deportation, despite the fact that he has lived here for many years, has a family, and had a job. He also is an illegal immigrant with ties to gang activity, a couple of beefs on spousal abuse, and allegations he was apprehended once on human trafficking but (mysteriously) ordered released.
For liberals, Abrego-Garcia is a saint, in the category of George Floyd. Whether you like it or not, he entered the country illegally, was accused of domestic abuse more than once by his wife to the point that she took out restraining orders, and he had gang ties. He is a citizen of El Salvador. He also had a tough life in El Salvador before he came here, which he did illegally. He was sent back to El Salvador in a recent mass deporation, where he was incarcerated upon arrival.
Abrego-Garcia is a Salvadoran national and, last time I checked, El Salvador can incarcerate its own citizens as it sees fit.
So the intrepid Senator Van Hollen has flown to El Salvador, likely at taxpayer expense, to spring Abrego-Garcia from prison and get him back to Maryland. This may be a violation of the Logan Act, but, more importantly, it is bizarre. An American citizen, even a Senator, has no right to demand a foreign country release a citizen into U.S. custody. In the event that a U.S. citizen is wrongly held by a foreign government, there are extradition and diplomatic channels to be followed. A government official from El Salvador, even Nayib Bukele himself, cannot simply fly to America and demand that Van Hollen be released into their custody; the same applies the other way around, Van Hollen cannot just grab a Salvadoran citizen.
All I know about the law I learned on Law & Order, but this borders very closely on kidnapping, which, last time I checked, even Democrats considered illegal.
But here is what bothers me and what should bother even Democrats. There are probably six American citizens currently still being held hostage in Gaza. The media and the Democrat party, including the nonstop talker Jasmine Crockett, never mention them. You probably don’t know their names, that’s how deeply their stories have been buried. Here they are:
Edan Alexander. He’s just 21 years old and has dual citizenship, U.S.A. and Israel. He was serving in the Israeli military, as people do. Alexander comes from New Jersey, and there is hope he is still alive.
Elkana Bohbot. Bohbot is an American guy in his 30s who was captured while attending a music festival. There’s a pretty good chance he’s still alive, Hamas has just released its second “proof of life” video for this guy. Here are his story and some photos. He describes himself as “Prisoner 22.”
Matan Angrest. He is an American who was captured at the kibbutz on October 7 and he celebrated his 21st birthday in captivity. Like Alexander, Angrest was an American who went to Israel to serve in the military. He was just days away from his discharge when he was captured. The latest “proof of life video” reveals—according to his family—evidence of broken bones in his face and missing fingers. Later, video footage was released that suggests Angrest was killed by Hamas a couple of weeks ago. His fate is unknown.
Avinatan Or. Or is an electrical engineer in his 30s, an American residing in Tel Aviv and planning to move in with his girlfriend. Both he and his girlfriend were captured at the music festival, but taken away separately. There is not a lot in the media on this man.
Yosef-Haim Ohana. This young American man was living in Israel and preparing to return to the United States to get his pilot’s license. He was with friends at the music festival when the attack came, but rather than seek shelter, he and his girlfriend tried to assist those who were injured or so panicked they did not know where to flee. Ohana was captured and there is a recent proof of life video that gives hope he is still alive.
Alon Ohel. This young American was a music lover who was captured during the music festival. He actually had almost made a clean getaway when the terrorists attacked, but he was seen being taken by Hamas. Since he is a musician, his family has set up a piano in Hostage Plaza, Tel Aviv, inviting people to play the piano in support of the hostages overall and Alon Ohel in particular. There is a proof life video recently issued, providing hope he is alive, but he has been seriously injured and reportedly has been kept in chains in a cage all of this time.
Where is Van Hollen’s compassion for this actual American citizen?
While it is hoped these American hostages are still alive, realistic assessment is that some may already be dead or might be alive now, but executed before Hamas would ever release them. We just don’t know their fates.
While every hostage deserves to be released, these are Americans and should be of more interest to Senator Van Hollen than an El Salvadoran national who entered this country illegally and, upon being deported, has been incarcerated for less than one month in his native land. These Americans have been held in unspeakable conditions, in dark tunnels, starved, and abused for years. Van Hollen does not have time for them. They’re Americans, after all, not worth the trouble.
This ridiculous Senator Van Hollen has not traveled to Gaza or even Israel to check in on these American citizens who truly did nothing wrong other than be in the wrong place at the wrong time and been captured by terrorists. He has no sympathy for them and by going on a fool’s errand to rescue Abrego-Garcia, demonstrates his profound disdain for Americans and hostages.
Meanwhile, the mainstream media ignores these hostages. You’d be more likely to hear honest reporting on J6 from the mainstream media than a word about the hostages.
They did get a brief mention by Democrats was in a short nod at the Democrat National Convention (DNC), but it was more of a play to praise Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for working “tirelessly” to free these hostages. I don’t think Biden or Harris ever worked tirelessly at anything. And they created the problem of Abrego-Garcia and his ilk by leaving the Southern border untended. But at the DNC, we heard praise for Harris about how great she was in dealing with the hostages.
Now Van Hollen takes taxpayer dollars to visit El Salvador and fails in his rescue mission. Even Stevie Wonder could see that failure coming. There is no way that El Salvador could release a Salvadoran citizen to America. I mean, who does Van Hollen think he is? The king of the world? Does every nation have to bend the knee to Van Hollen? Does a Senator from Maryland run Central America? No self-respecting country would ever cave to a ploy like this.
Senator Van Hollen was rebuffed in El Salvador and not even by President Bukele. Bukele delegated this task to the second-in-command, who politely but legally told Van Hollen to buzz off. Did Van Hollen expect Bukele to obey him? Did he expect that El Salvador would simply hand over a Salvadoran citizen to a U.S. Senator who didn’t even bother to bring extradition papers?
I think this shows the depth of depravity and, frankly, dumbness of the Democrats. They pick the most unlikely people to cherish, lie about them to make them look more saintly, break laws to help them, and act surprised when things blow up in their faces.
The Abrego-Garcia case is just George Floyd Part 2. You remember George Floyd, he was the career criminal who died of a drug overdose in police custody, which landed police officers in hot water. Derek Chauvin is still in prison for this, even though Floyd died of a drug overdose that had nothing to do with Chauvin.
Here’s how George Floyd is a lot like Kilmar Abrego-Garcia.
Both men were doing illegal things. Floyd was on drugs and passing counterfeit money when he was apprehended by the cops. He had a history of criminal convictions. Abrego-Garcia entered the country illegally and had gang ties.
Both men had issues with violence against women. Floyd once held a loaded gun to the belly of a pregnant woman during a home invasion in Houston. Abrego-Garcia’s wife had a couple of restraining orders against him for domestic violence.
Both men were painted to look like victims of racial oppression. Floyd was killed because white cops always killed men of color (even though Derek Chauvin was following police procedures for restraining Floyd, who died of a drug overdose). Abrego-Garcia is the “Maryland man” and model citizen who had a job and therefore was a saint. Never mind he is really “El Salvadoran illegal” with criminal ties.
Both men had tons of liberal supporters. For Floyd, the Democrat machine was willing to destroy billions of dollars’ worth of small businesses in downtown Minneapolis in “mostly peaceful” riots. For Abrego-Garcia, we have Senators running off to bully sovereign nations.
Both men were seen as above the law. Floyd was taking drugs, passing bad money, and had a history of criminality. Abrego-Garcia entered the United States illegally (that’s a crime), beat his wife, had gang ties, and evidence is emerging slowly that he may have been involved in some human trafficking. The latter is just an allegation, but sometimes it takes a while for the truth to emerge.
Both men became symbols to advance lawless causes by liberals. With Floyd, it gave rise to Black Lives Matter, a thoroughly corrupt organization, and it drove the “defund the police” movement. It demoralized law enforcement and crime rates (not surprisingly) spiked. With Abrego-Garcia, it is giving rise to a new liberal cause: wanting to gut deportation orders for illegal aliens. Biden and Harris allowed millions of unvetted illegals to pour into this country (even when they could have made immigration legal and organized—they preferred millions of randos) and now the liberals want to make this no-deportation-ever into a political policy. I’ve heard liberals even say that anyone, anywhere, is entitled to live in America if they want. No immigration, no paperwork, no permissions necessary.
Van Hollen either did this for publicity—so he could look like a compassionate man of action instead of just another dumb Democrat—or else he truly believed he could swoop in like Batman and just pluck a criminal out of an El Salvadoran prison and bring him back to Maryland. This suggests to me Van Hollen has no idea who Nayib Bukele is. El Salvador may be small, but even Senators cannot trifle with Bukele.
Hey, Van Hollen, I have some suggestions that might actually do good, help your constituents, and make you really popular instead of just another looney-tunes character in lefty circus. Fix the Key Bridge already. Reduce crime, particularly in your most dangerous city of Baltimore. Get your schoolhouse in order so that Maryland kids can read and do math. And if you want to try to rescue anyone, start with Americans held hostage for YEARS in Gaza.
How is Van Hollen Like Obama?
Here are some interesting bits of Van Hollen trivia. Like Obama, he’s the guy nobody ever heard of until suddenly he was on everybody’s radar.
Christopher Van Hollen was born in Pakistan.
His mother worked for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), even serving as chief of the South Asia CIA outpost. His father worked in the Foreign Service and served a time as U.S. ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Van Hollen grew up in Pakistan, Turkey, India, and Sri Lanka. He only returned to the United States when he was nearing the end of high school. He sounds kind of like Obama, doesn’t he? Intelligence-connected parents and a childhood in foreign nations.
He probably does not like DOGE since his family likely was funded nonstop by USAID.
He married Katherine Wilkins, a woman with several degrees, including one from that hotbed of antisemitism, Harvard, and attendance at the London School of Economics. She was a fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and is considered an expert on Turkey. Her father worked for the Food and Drug Administration, and her mother was in the Environmental Protection Agency. It would be hard to find a person more Deep State that Miss Katherine Wilkins. When Katherine Wilkins wed Chris Van Hollen in 1986, it was a marriage made in liberal-land, CIA groom marries Deep State bride.
Van Hollen got into office when Thomas Miller, president of the Maryland Senate, did some gerrymandering back in 2002. He took a district that traditionally voted conservative in deep blue Maryland and added some people here, removed some people there, and voila … a Democrat majority was created. And they voted in Van Hollen pretty reliably ever since. In fact, he got 66% of the vote last time he was elected in 2022.
Hmm, sounds a little sketchy.
Politically, he is anti-2A, pro-Obamacare, and he criticized Biden for not supporting Gaza enough. He has no record of advocating at any time for any American held hostage by Hamas. When Trump wanted to send $8.8B to Israel to support Israel in the war, Van Hollen was quick to support a Bernie Sanders’ bill against it, which failed. He is also pro-PRIDE and supports transgenders in the military.
Oh, and Van Hollen says that Trump is running an “authoritarian government.” I don’t know if he said that before or after he demanded El Salvador release one of its citizens into his personal custody.
This case, unlike the George Floyd case, may destroy the democRAT"ick" Party's support once and for all. Van Hollen isn't the only top democRAT who has gone out on a limb to demand this illegal alien, wife beating, human trafficking, MS-13 gang member be returned to the US. Check out the statements of Tim Walz, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Maryland Governor Wes Moore, James Carville, House Rep Shri Thanedar. Senator Whitehouse (of Rhode Island) even wants him awarded with millions of dollars from the US government. How crazy is that? And the list goes on and on. But what I really want to focus on is why the FBI reportedly asked that Abrego Garcia be released by police when he was caught driving 9 illegal aliens from Texas to Maryland, all of whom claimed his address as their own. Who was the FBI official who requested that? He/She should be put under oath and grilled under bright lights ... for starters. There is much more to this story than has been released, I suspect.
