Suggests New Mom of Five Weeks Should "Get a Job"

Let’s begin by opening our hymnals to census data on Congressional District 14 in New York City, which is the district that foolishly elected Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC) to the House of Representatives.

• Median age in her district is 37.8 years

• It’s almost evenly divided between men and women (51% female)

• The per capita income of her district is $33,940 which is two-thirds of the per capita income of the rest of New York ($48,847)

• In her district, 18.6% of the people live below the poverty level (in the United States overall, 12.5% of people live below the poverty level)

• The average household in AOC’s district has 2.5 people, and 40% of her constituents were born outside the United States (overall in the United States, our foreign-born population amounts to 14.3% of the country)

• A lot of her district is married (42%)

• Almost 4% of her constituents welcomed a new baby this year alone

In other words, AOC is not exactly bringing prosperity to the 14th District.

Women’s Sports

Way back in 1972, the United States passed a federal civil rights law known as Title IX. It prohibits discrimination based on sex in any federally funded educational program or activity. Most notably, Title IX included sports and sport scholarships.

Title IX meant that federally funded schools and universities had to give both females and males opportunities to play and compete in sports. The law did not stipulate that these had to be the same sports—men didn’t need to have their own gymnastics program and women didn’t need to play football. But the interests and abilities of both sexes were to be taken into account and both men and women were to be offered programs which allowed for similar levels of participation. Since men had previously been afforded these opportunities, Title IX was mainly about increasing sports opportunities, prize money, and scholarships to female students.

Gone were the days when only boys could get an athletic scholarship.

And the icing on top: both sexes had to have similar access to equipment, supplies, facilities, services, training, coaching, and travel allowances. And it closed a loophole saying that schools could not raise the issue of money in favoring men’s sports over women’s sports (or vice versa)—universitiers still had to offer sports for both men and women and not discriminate.

In particular, Title IX drew a bright line between “men’s sports” and “women’s sports.”

This heralded greater interest in women’s sports. Girls started to get athletic scholarships. Women’s teams formed, competed, even picked up some air time. There were opportunities on campuses across the country for girls to excel in athletics. It would seem like this was victory for women’s rights.

That was, until we found out that men are better at women’s sports than women are.

Most notable of all was a person who wants to be called Lia Thomas. Lia Thomas identifies as a transwoman, which means Lia has XY chromosomes. From what I’ve read in news reports and heard on podcasts, Lia has never had what they euphemistically call “bottom surgery.” Below the belt, Lia still has what original parts. There are women who have said this to reporters in the press and on podcasts. You can call her “Miss Lia” all day long, but she still has original XY equipment.

Lia stands 6 feet 4 inch tall and has the body of a male swimmer: long arms, short legs, a very long torso, and slim hips. Lia qualifies as a “woman” because she has taken drugs. She takes testosterone suppressants and estrogen supplements so that her testosterone levels are roughly those of a biological female. Lia has only started doing this after competing as a college swimmer with the men. In other words, Lia was born male, grew up as a boy, and went through male puberty. In fact, she went through teenage years being a 100% un-medicated male.

It shouldn’t come as a big surprise to sports fans that Lia wins a lot of races against female swimmers—and sometimes by a lot. Those who think that it’s fair to let Lia compete against women argue that Lia is “exactly” the same as a woman and wins a lot because Lia has trained in swimming for almost two decades. Lia is a good swimmer because she’s athletic and well trained; it has nothing to do with biology, they argue. They also say that genetics has always given certain athletes a natural advantage over others. For instance, Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps won a lot of gold medals but it has been pointed out that he has an abnormally large lung capacity and an abnormally large “wingspan” (arms outstretched), being four inches more than his height. These are not normal features, but he came by them honestly, having “been born that way.” Superstar athletes often have genetic advantages over lesser athletes and non-athletes, advantages that even arduous training cannot mitigate. So defenders of transgender women in women’s sports argue that being trans is just a genetic advantage, tough luck.

If that’s the argument, throw Title IX out the window.

Lia’s inclusion in women’s swimming has come with a host of other benefits. Lia can use the women’s locker room and parade around naked among the female swimmers. Except for being dosed on estrogen, Lia looks like the other men swimmers. And this makes biological women uncomfortable. Safe spaces—a sacred term in liberal land—should include the right of biological women to have locker rooms, bathrooms, and other segregated spaces to themselves.

Title IX was supposed to protect that. And way back in the day, liberals loved Title IX.

Not any more! A guy can pop some estrogen tablets and get a free pass to strip down naked and show off whatever he wants to a bunch of unwilling females who are criticized, ridiculed, and sometimes expelled for daring to hint at disapproval.

Remember in The Game of Thrones, when Queen Circe is stripped naked and has to walk around town while everyone throws things at her and yells, “Shame! Shame! Shame!” That’s sort of what happened to the biological women who dared to question the legality of allowing Lia Thomas in women’s sports and in women’s locker rooms.

But it’s more than just the invasion of safe spaces—it is also forcing biological females to compete against a person who has undergone male puberty.

It’s a simple truth: people who are XY are different than people who are XX. Follow the science.

While liberals always talk about tolerance, they’re authoritarian. They didn’t gently ease into the debate about transgender sports. They didn’t allow for biological women athletes to join in the conversation. They didn’t consider the feelings of anyone but the transgenders and they applauded them as being “brave.” What’s so brave about stealing trophies, robbing prize money, cheating, and then spying on embarrassed women in a locker room?

The transgender invaders denied women athletes safe spaces and shut down all conversation on this issue from day one. The quickest way for a female athlete to get expelled is to breathe a word that she thinks this might be a tad unfair. A lot of hard-working, dignified, serious female athletes lost prize money and scholarships, but they dare not even mention this without being shut down by the femi-nazi nation.

Men are now better women than women, case closed. It’s all about bravery and the rainbow flag, and inclusion. To pursue the lefty goal of “inclusion,” the left demanded intrusion, invasion, and violation.

Riley Gaines and the Dignity of Women

In 2022, Riley Gaines of the University of Kentucky wound up tying with Lia Thomas in a 200-yard freestyle swim. Although ties in swimming—where competitions are measured in fractions of a second—are very rare, this was a true tie. Both Thomas and Gaines swam the rate with a time of 1:43:40. This was fifth place in the race, but the officials at the NCAA swim meet only had one fifth-place trophy. Flummoxed as to how to split the trophy, the goofball NCAA officials decided to give it to Thomas and bump Gaines to sixth place. That’s right; in women’s swimming, tie goes to the man.

So brave! And Lia accepted it with a big doofus grin. I’m surprised he didn’t also punch Riley in the face. (That would have been less painful.)

It is my understanding that Gaines was promised that she’d get a fifth-place trophy in the mail at some future date. I’m not sure if she ever did. But her moment in the spotlight was robbed from her. The judges in women’s swimming reflexively rewarded the man and punished the woman by humiliating her and stealing what was rightfully hers.

This began the activist career of Riley Gaines. Maybe her activism began before this, but this is where Gaines started to build up real traction. And don’t think that people don’t agree with her.

• Among Republicans, 94% are against men in women’s sports and locker rooms

• Among Democrats, 67% want men out of women’s sports

• An NBC poll that did not divide by political party reported in April 2025 that 75% of all Americans do not want transwomen (biological men who say they are women) to compete in women’s sports

• It’s hard to get these kind of numbers except on basic issues—like “is clean air and clean water important?” or “should there be limits on campaign spending?” This appears to be one of those fundamental issues on which most of the country agrees. Call it broad support. Broad bipartisan support

In 2024, Gaines joined in on a lawsuit against the NCAA accusing it of violating Title IX. Women had the right to women’s sports and men could not compete with them or take their prizes. The case has not been settled, but it may be an important milestone on the road to recovery.

All-American Girl vs. Commie Girl

Riley Gaines is a 12-times National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) All-American and she made tremendous inroads with her activism to keep Title IX intact. She hasn’t acted alone. The topic of transwomen in women’s sports has hit everything from Forbes magazine to the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. Gaines has since graduated college, married, and she gave birth to a daughter on September 29, 2025.

AOC, who to the best of my knowledge has not participated in any college-level athletics (nor has she ever married or given birth), has taken aim at Riley Gaines lately. Actually, Gaines was on the social media platform X and she commented on a photo in which AOC along with Zohran Mamdani and Bernie Sanders were giving what looked like Nazi salutes. Gaines wrote: “We’re being destroyed from within.” If you know anything about politics, you know that Zohran admits he’s a communist and Bernie and AOC aren’t far behind.

AOC shot back: “Maybe if you channeled all this anger into swimming faster, you would not have come in fifth.”

Ouch.

AOC was disparaging Gaines’ career (she’s a world-class swimmer) and reminding her of that proud day when the NCAA affiliates removed her fifth-place trophy, handed it to the man standing next to her, and forced her to smile for the cameras. AOC at least recognized that Riley Gaines deserved fifth-place, but to AOC, it was an indication that Gaines was mediocre not that a big male athlete had robbed her in broad daylight and then referees insisted Riley smile for the cameras.

Gaines came back at AOC, reminding her that Lia Thomas had previously been 462-ranked swimmer among the men until he took some testosterone suppressants and joined the women’s team. She also added that AOC was a “misogynistic dunce.” In all fairness, AOC has been called far worse.

Then Gaines—going on Fox—offered to debate AOC on the “insane Democratic policies and platforms they stand for.” AOC has refused to take her up on the offer.

But then AOC used social media to clap back with the single most insane thing she has ever said. “And I would like to challenge this person [Gaines] to get a real job.”

AOC’s View of Motherhood

The irony was not lost on Gaines—it was AOC, who had voted to keep the federal government shutdown going, who was technically without a job at that moment. Of course, that’s too subtle of an argument for a meathead like AOC.

Instead, Riley Gaines shot back with the best comment of all. “I have a real job. I’m a mom. It’s the most important and rewarding job in the world. I think if you had a baby girl like I do, you’d understand my positions a little better.”

This X exchange brings to light the core of the transgender debate. It’s not about how much testosterone is in your body or how many estrogen pills you swallow. It’s about being a woman. A female. Riley Gaines saw her sports career eroded by the invasion of biological men into sports in the person of Lia Thomas. Now she saw her maternal stature denigrated by AOC who did not consider having a baby just a few weeks earlier counted as any sort of “career.”

In fact, Gaines had the baby five weeks earlier, high time she get back to her job! (I thought Democrats were big on maternity leave.)

Of course, to the abortion-mongers of the Democrat party, babies are an annoying inconvenience and to be disparaged at all costs if not outright eliminated before they can draw their first breath. To AOC, women who mother children are to be mocked and ridiculed. Only an idiot would have a baby! Taking care of a baby? That’s not a job, that’s something you avoid! That’s what AOC meant.

To AOC, flipping burgers or waiting tables was an infinitely higher calling than having a baby.

The inability to recognize motherhood as a “job” is not just a problem, it’s the heart of the whole issue. You can’t replace women with men, no matter what first names the men call themselves or how many pills they take. Women are different. Women have different trajectories through life. Being a mother isn’t a setback or a pitfall—it’s a high calling and deserving of our attention and dedication.

The last First Lady Jackie Kennedy, a Democrat herself, once said, “If you bungle raising your children, I don’t think whatever else you do well matters very much.” Just shows you how far the Democrats have fallen from sanity.

AOC’s insults are even more egregious in that she thinks Riley Gaine’s activism should not count as a career. Activism is a career. Half of all commies have activist jobs on their resumes. Would AOC have told Barack Obama—that notable American “activist”—that his earliest years in Chicago politics as a community organizer were without meaning because he did not have a “job”? No, I’m sure she considers Democrat activism work. But if you fight for a cause—any cause—that AOC disagrees with, she assumes it’s not a job at all.

And motherhood? To AOC and the other abortion-mongers, that’s the most despicable thing any human being can do! I think she mocked Gaines’ motherhood because it’s truly how she feels. If she had just blurted out something stupid in the heat of the moment, she could have apologized. She didn’t.

I always thought AOC was photogenic. But this is the ugliest I have ever seen her. This mocks every woman who embraces motherhood as a calling and the most important work in the whole world.
